Winter 2008
Just a few things to tell.
First thing is that I have an installation going up at Tilt Gallery here in Portland. The installation will feature an effected reproducing player piano and will open on Thursday March 6th. I'll put more info about this soon on the installation page of this site.
In other news, Paranoid Park is seeing USA release in early March, so if you live in this part of the world you can see it soon. If you live somewhere else in the world it most likely has already come your way. Either way you can watch a preview for the film right Here.

Autumn 2007
Hello in the Autumn days, to watch the updates unfold...
The big news is that I have a new full length album out. The album is titled Spinning Pieces and is available for purchase right here. This album is actually a compilation of three earlier pieces that saw limited released with Locust over the past few years. You can find more info regarding this and all of my releases on the albums page.
In other news, I just returned from Japan where I played a number of shows to support this new release. Many thanks to Headz for putting the album out and for bringing me over there for some shows.
I'm beginning work on a number of other projects including a solo installation work and various collaborations which will be surfacing in the coming months. Thanks again for checking in, and please sign the email list if you'd like updates on shows, etc...

Winter 2007
Hello everyone, happy end of winter days, and welcome to the new ethan
rose website. Here is where you can find information on all of my
releases, future and past, as well as films that feature my music, show
info, and other things both large and small.
Currently, one of the largest - and most happily looming - things is
that sections of Ceiling Songs are going to be used in Gus Van Sant's
newest feature film, Paranoid Park. I'm most humbly honored to have my
music be used by a director whose work I have continually admired ever
since I was first introduced to his films many years ago. The film will
premier at cannes and will open in the states in the not too distant
future.
The other exciting news is that I recently finished the music for a
third short run multiple entitled "singing tower" which will soon be
available on the Locust Music website. This piece was made entirely
from an automated carillon located in the Hoover Tower at Stanford. The
CD will be packaged in a perforated metal housing that is inspired by
the very machine that intones these enormous the bells. Many thanks for finding me on the world wide web...more updates soon.
